CHARLES A. LINDBERGH und ANNE M. LINDBERGH Erkundungsflug 1933 im Auftrag der PAN AM, um eine Route im Nordatlantischen Flugverkehr von New York nach Kopenhagen zu erkunden, Forschungsreise der beiden wohl berühmtesten Flugpioniere über den nördlichem Atlantik von Long Island über Kanada, Grönland weiter nach Island und über die Färöer Inseln nach Dänemark. Post wurde lediglich von Grönland nach Island befördert,39 Karten und 8 Briefe wurden in Holstenborg aufgenommen, weitere 3 Karten am 8.8.33 in Godthaab. Am 15.8.33 startete die Tingmissartoq von Lindbergh, eine Lockheed Sirius, aus Ammassalik zum Flug nach Island, von dort wurde die Post per Schiff nach Kopenhagen gebracht und am 23.8.33 gestempelt. Die vorliegende Karte ist eine der 3 in Godthaab aufgenommenen Belege, mit Signatur beider Piloten, nebengesetzt die grönländischen Dienstsiegel, 15 Ö. gestempelt Kopenhagen 23.8.33. Bedeutende Flugpost-Rarität! 1933, North Atlantic Survey Flights by the famous pioneer pilot Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne Morrow Lindbergh, who acted as co-polit, radio operator and historian. The plane left Flushing Bay, Long Island, on July 9 for an exploration and survey flight on behalf of PAN AM, searching for a convenient route from New York to Copenhagen. Following the coastal line, they passed Newfoundland and made stops in Greenland, Iceland and the Faroer Islands. Mail was carried only between Greenland and Iceland in Lindbergh's Lockheed Sirius named Tingmissartoq, 39 Postcards and 8 letters were taken from the Danish colony at Holstenborg, another 3 cards were carried from Godthaab on August 8. These cards were signed by both, Lindbergh and his wife and co-pilot. The flight from Greenland to Iceland was made on August 15, from Reykjavik to Copenhagen mail was carried by boat, it was postmarked on arrival August 23.
